A church that teaches sound, biblical, life-giving doctrine based on the Scriptural revelation of what Jesus said and did, and that propagates this doctrine through other local churches.

John 5:39-40 records the words of Jesus. “You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.”

In essence, the Gospels record for us WHAT Jesus said and did, the Old Testament gives us insight into WHY He said and did these things, and the balance of the New Testament tells us HOW to interpret and apply what He said and did. Jesus is the incarnated Word of God and the Bible is the divinely inspired record of His self-revelation; it is the written Word of God.

We believe that sound interpretation of the Word of God rests on three main principles; ‘Context’, ‘Christocentricity’ and ‘Exhaustive reference’. That is, for us to correctly understand and apply the Scriptures, we need to view them in their correct scriptural, histocultural, and literary contexts (Context principle). Also, our understanding must be based squarely on what Jesus said and did (Christocentric principle). And finally, we need to ensure that wem do not select certain scriptures whilst neglecting others which teach on the same topic (Exhaustive reference principle).
