Relationship
A church family characterised by love, acceptance and forgiveness, where the members are in loving relationship with God and each other within an environment of order, participation and accountability.
Relationship with God
Relationship with God is the most
important element of our Christian faith. If we have no relationship with Jesus then we will, at best, have some sort of religion, but we will not have a dynamic and living Christian experience. Jesus taught that a person cannot enter heaven by adhering to a religious system, but that he or she needs to be ‘born again’. Why? Because only a person who’s spirit has been regenerated can have a real relationship with God, who is ‘spirit’.
When we are spiritually regenerated, we are born into a family; the church. Many Christians accept that they are saved from a life of separation from God but do not understand that they are equally saved into a life of relationship, not only with God, but with other believers. The church is the family of God and we, the members of that family, are in relationship with the Father and with His other children.
Relationships spanning the ages
Sunday
Babies & Toddlers
We have a ‘cryroom’ for parents with babies and toddlers. There the babies can be fed (and cry if necessary!) while mum and dad can listen to and see what is happening in the service. This is available for all services.
Sunshine Kids
The pre-school ‘littlies’, starting from the age of 3, meet together for their version of what mum and dad are doing in ‘Big’ church. They’re involved in the same teaching programme as the older children, but obviously using age appropriate material.
Children’s Church
The primary-school children all meet together for a time of corporate worship and ‘catchup’, and then split into their individual grades for personalised Biblical teaching.
Rebel Youth
Transformed, not conformed! The high-school ‘teens’ get together for a time of relaxed corporate worship and coffee, before breaking up into smaller, more intimate discipleship groups.
Church
This is where you come in! The adults meet corporately to fellowship, worship, share, pray and hear the preached Word. We focus on expository as opposed to topical preaching. Our services typically run for an hour and a half. Service times can be found on the back of this pack.
Week nights
Go Getters
The grade 1’s to 5’s meet on a Friday evening, usually at the church, for a time of fun, games, food, fellowship and spiritual input.
Step Up
Every Friday the ‘senior’ primary-school children (grade 6 & 7’s) meet in different homes in the area for an intimate relaxed time of fellowship and Bible study with one-another.
Rebel Youth
The high-school teenagers (grade 8 – 12) meet every Friday in varying locations ranging from the Youth Centre, to people’s homes, to car-parks in the area! It’s a dynamic, diverse and vibrant group of teens that have a relaxed time of intimate worship, fellowship, food, fun & games, and teaching.
Cell Groups
The adults of this local church body meet weekly to encourage one another in seeking to apply the Word of God. These small fellowship groups encourage the formation of intimate and caring relationships as they pray, worship, share and apply the Word together. When a group grows too large, another group is planted.
